Hello! We are back – from our ten day Northern California adventure. I can’t wait to share some pictures from our travels, but today I have photos from the upstairs of a beautiful country home in the Lake District, (see my last post for the downstairs).

The whole place was re-designed by Jess and Kat of Field Day Interior Design Studio and they took their inspiration from the breathtaking surroundings and colours found in the Lake District.

This pale lilac/grey bedroom was my favourite (or was it the next one)? The tones in all the upstairs rooms are muted and cosy. Taking colours and textures from the skies and landscapes beyond and inspired by writers that lived or had ties to the Lakes.

A surprising hit of yellow in the en-suite bathroom here – with a sunny floral against white tiles.

The master bedroom is a pinky peach that is just magical, it shines a different colour as the sun moves round throughout the day and looks so inviting with all the vintage velvet and warm woods of the furniture. Clouds of crumpled linen top the bed and the wicker frame adds texture.

Light bounces all around, with vintage mirrors facing the windows and softening wall lights.

This is where my bathroom envy really kicked in – this one is luxurious with lovely worn details, we LOVED the sink set into the old table, the fabulous deep bath right by the window for a soak with a view of the stars and the huge hotel style shower.

The views are stunning on all sides, lakes, mountains and forests in the front and lush gardens and trees in the back – all superbly kept by the husband and wife gardening team.

A two-minute drive away you can be out by the lakes, watching boats sail by and cattle wandering through or up in the hills looking down on the stunning landscape. What a place?!

So happy you joined me on a peek through these upstairs rooms, we had such a great time bringing them to life in front of the camera. Next up – I will be sharing snippets and views from San Francisco and beyond, hopefully, I will see you very soon!
