A VISIT TO SISSINGHURST CASTLE

A VISIT TO SISSINGHURST CASTLE

Saturday to you, just rushing out the door to look after Butlers Emporium for the day, but I thought I would share a few pictures from a recent visit to the lovely Sissinghurst Castle and gardens. My favourite capture was this top image, showing one of the gardeners hard at work surrounded by flowers and bees. We had a beautiful day in the awe inspiring garden and grounds. Vita Sackville-West, the poet and writer, began transforming the derelict ruins of Sissinghurst in the 1930s with her diplomat and author husband, Harold Nicolson. The magical and sometimes heartbreaking story of their lives captured our minds and the garden captured our hearts. You must visit if you get the chance!

way home we had to stop and take in all the amazingness of this poppy field!
