After the joy that was Modern Rustic, I just knew that Emily Henson’s second book Bohemian Modern was going to be another beauty! So I am smiling from ear to ear today as I kick off the blog tour for Emily’s newest book. The images here are a few of my favourite pages, I hope they will give you a little bohemian inspiration for Spring?!

Drawing inspiration from an array of real-life Bohemian Modern interiors, Emily will take you on a journey around the world to visit thirteen inspiring homes, from a retro riad in Essaouira to a technicolor family home in The Netherlands. Within the pages Emily explores the unusual elements that come together to create this eclectic, colourful, and contemporary look. I am particularly enamoured with it, as my childhood home was and still is as bohemian as they come! Plus our place now has most of these elements floating about the rooms too.

This simple set up is my favourite page of the book, I love the plain upholstered bench surrounded by layers of pattern in the cushions and rug, then the feathers above just about send me into overdrive. Little details like these tiny crocheted pot holders are also the kind of decorative boho trifles I would be very happy to have hanging around my home – so much so I have asked a clever friend to recreate me some, (I have the pom-poms on lockdown after a weekend making a garland)!

Emily explores mixing pattern, colour, collected textiles, contrasting styles and ways to bring the outdoors in, and my favourite aspect of the book – considering creativity before consumption – the best thing about a bohemian modern home, is that it can be achieved on a small budget if you have some imagination, a thrifty nature and are comfortable mixing different eras and styles.

So, if you are looking for advice on how to bring individuality, excitement or a bit of boho modern fun into your home, then you will find plenty of inspiration and tips in Emily’s captivating guide.
