Every time I discover a new eco friendly home product I want to share it with everyone I know! The more eco conscious buying everyone does, the better, as far as I’m concerned – that’s one of the main reasons we started our own store. So when these beautifully designed fully recyclable shades designed by Lane popped up on my radar, I was very excited.

We have quite low ceilings here, and all my old light fittings from the apartment have been sold, given to family or stowed away in the attic for another house. So, I am always on the hunt for stylish shades that don’t need to be wired in or require heavy duty fixings. So far we are still at three bare bulbs – funnily enough those pictures never make it to Instagram?!

A pendant lampshade with a simple, beautiful and clean aesthetic, the Twin Tone Lampshades are made entirely from one single material, two sheets of heavyweight paper that are bonded together, hence them being the perfect eco friendly lighting choice. I decided to make some extra work for myself and hang this one low over the sideboard in our bedroom.

In this latest collection form Lane, each lampshade brings together two inspiring colours carefully matched from Little Greene – that have been screen printed on the inside and outside. There are no plastic components (even the fitting inside is card), making them entirely recyclable and biodegradable. The paper is made in England and the lampshades are die cut and laser cut in the UK, then they are hand assembled in the Lane studio, giving them low production miles too.

The only problem I can see with them is choosing just one colour-way?! Just look at that blue and yellow combo below! Ours is Loft White & Orange Aurora and if you want to get a closer look at that pretty shade of pink swing by Cate St Hill’s place and take a peek.
