I know winter is not over yet and with snow threatened at the end of the week, we should probably all just stay in, bank up the fires and warm up the the whisky and honey! But the perfect timing of this new book release – Shed Decor by Sally Coulthard and the sight of my crocuses and daffs starting to poke their green spikes out of the lawn, has made me want to get out there and build that dream shed space!

Sheds theses days mean so much more to their owners than just potting up seeds and storing rusty lawn mowers, as the stunning pages in this book show. They come in many forms, be it an old caravan that has been renovated and turned into a shop space, or a relaxing eclectic bolt hole at the bottom of the garden, away from the washing up and other household chores.

The beautiful mismatched textiles on this daybed above have finally given me the bug to turn some of that Liberty fabric collection of mine, into pattern clashing cushions. And with the remnants I could only hope to make a patchwork quilt as lovely as the one featured in the shed below.

Sally’s book combines ideas, tips and practical information, all alongside examples of six decor types – Rustic – Vintage – Plain & Simple – Recycled – Retro and Country. Which style do you think suits you most? I am thinking Recycled for me and the man. We have a lot of boot fair finds, old paint and found debris that would surely create a great recycled shed space. Note – the shed we currently own has a roof like a sieve and is filled with spiders and some other oddments left over from the previous owners, definitely time for an upgrade I think!

All the sheds shared in the pages are amazing, I think I would be happy to build a tiny shed village with one of each!
